Twinkle Kids Cafe is a spacious and engaging play space/cafe perfect for under 5’s. It has a similar feel to ChouChou bebe crossed with Nubo, with a holistic variety of play opportunities paired with ample, comfortable seating.
Play areas
Twinkle cafe has a well thought out play system. With inviting spaces along each wall and a central seating area for easy supervision. A multi-level enclosed play structure runs along one side of the cafe. It includes several slides, obstacles and a ball pit, all of which offer a clear view of your child at all times. Imaginative play is available at the back of the cafe. It includes a ‘fruit and veg supermarket’, hospital and dress up resources. The remaining side has a baby safe ‘pod’ plus as quite a few sensory and fine motor stations for children to explore.
Food and drink
Twinkle Cafe offers a typical cafe style menu including pastries, salads, hot drinks and children options. Babycino’s and fresh juices are presented in takeaway cups.
Facilities
The overall facilities are clean and well presented with a seperate change area available. The ample seating is a particular highlight. The comfort of parents and their ease of supervision has been carefully considered, with seating that is both stylish and comfortable.
Bumps to be aware of
Our pram was allowed in as we had a young baby. However, most prams are left ‘parked’ at the door. All visitors must wear socks/slippers inside the cafe, adults included. Be sure to bring some along! It is worth mentioning that the parking at Burwood Plaza is dated and generally quite tight (I’m biased though as I drive an enormous mum van). Try to park near the lift if possible.
Verdict
Overall, Twinkle Cafe offers a very pleasant atmosphere to appeal to both parents and children alike. Our hour there went extremely quickly as all the kids remained engaged throughout. We especially appreciated that only the first child in a family pays full price, with subsequent children being 50% off and under 1’s completely free (see pricing here). Adults pay $4 and receive a drinks coupon to the same value. The newly opened cafe began to get busy mid Saturday morning but had enough space and resources to accomodate the increased number of children. We look forward to returning on a weekday to pick up where the kids left off.
