When Frankie’s say “we take pride in being a family friendly venue”, they really mean it. With a fenced playground, duck feeding, great kids menu, high chairs, pram space and more, Frankie’s Food Factory welcomes little ones with open arms.
Play opportunities
An generously sized indoor fenced play area sits amongst the tables. The soft fall base makes it welcoming for the little ones with the equipment and slide a draw card for older kids.
The decor inside is so beautifully thought out, with a fantastic view of a lovely pond from the “al fresco” section tables. While you wait for your food you can ask the staff for some free bird seed and explore the outdoor boardwalk. The ducks are very friendly!
In case all this wasn’t enough, there are crayons on every table with the implied invitation to create a masterpiece on the paper table-toppers. AND the whole place is bursting with fun things to discover, like a wishing fountain full of coins and a stash of blankets for when it gets chilly.
Food and Drink
We splashed out and went for the salmon dish as it just looked too good to pass up. It delivered in the taste department too! The Little But Once toddler just loves selecting her own food. There were plenty of options for her to choose from on the kids menu. The drinks selection was equally as impressive and everything was served with a garden flair, a nod to your surroundings. You can check out their huge menu here. Keep an eye out for the star icon which means ‘served all day’.
Facilities
Bathrooms are available within the cafe, with a baby change table in the ladies room. Leave your stroller at the table if you need a change.
A feature we really appreciated was the groovy sink with a child sized step up. We didn’t need to ask twice for the toddler to volunteer to wash her hands before lunch, it was an attraction within itself.
A HUGE drawcard for our family (apart from the free and convenient parking) is the location within Flower Power. If a stroll out to see the lake wasn’t lovely enough you can explore the fabulous gardening superstore after your coffee or lunch stop. Head outside for a colour explosion and the opportunity to literally stop and smell the roses.
Verdict
We have to admit, we are flower obsessed. So Frankie’s Food Factory is our cup of tea straight off the bat (speaking of tea, their crockery is flower themed and gorgeous!). The attention to detail and thoughtfulness of all the family friendly touches is a real treat. What a joy to look around at lunch time and see a crowd of families and little ones enjoying a meal together or holding their parents/grandparents hands while feeding the ducks. We give Frankie’s a big three cheers and highly recommend stopping by.
